PRUNETO CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG 2014

The 2014 was a vintage year for Pruneto. Climate was very balanced during vegetation, so that the grapes had an excellent development. The Chianti Classico 2014 is a well-rounded and balanced wine. It effectively represents the main qualities of the traditional Chianti Classico: the aroma is harmonious – cherry, grapefruits, violet, juniper – the color is red ruby, the tannins are composite and delicate, it has good acidity and elegance. To be served at 16/18° C.

Grapes: 97% Sangiovese, 3% Merlot.

Vineyard age: 15/30 years.

Exposure: south-west and south.

Altitude: 550 m above sea level.

Terrain: mostly marl and clay, with solid rocky structure and limestone surface.

Fermentation: concrete tanks, with temperature always below 27°.

Ageing: 24/36 months in 2/3 hl oak barrels.

Bottle ageing: 3/4 months.

PRUNETO CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA 2011 ​

The Riserva is only produced for the best vintages, with 100% Sangiovese grapes selected from the oldest vineyard. In this wine the main qualities are concentration and balance. The aroma is fruity, and with the ageing process it shows wood and licorice scent. The color is an intense and clear ruby red. The tannins are strong but sweet, and the acidity is well balanced. The Riserva 2011 is a wine that brings out the best of Chianti Sangiovese with its strength, elegance and balance.

Grapes: 100% Sangiovese.

Vineyard age: 20/30 years.

Exposure: south-west and south.

Altitude: 550 m above sea level.

Fermentation: in concrete tanks, with temperature always below 27°.

Ageing: 36/48 months in 2/3 hl oak barrels.

Bottle ageing: 6/8 months.
